The last month of 2018 went by in a rush as did the whole of the year. Well, who cares about 2018? The Gregorian calendar! Despite having the Chinese New Year, and our own Indian celebrations of a new year, we follow this old Gregorian calendar. Greg who? Anyway, it doesn’t matter. Shouldn’t matter. Because […]
It’s a typically cold Bangalore morning when I step out for my Sunday 10k run. The area around my home is dotted with little hills, creating steep uphill roads that make a mockery of my calves and knees. As I huff and puff my way up, anxiously looking for the point where the road slopes […]
A writer, they say, writes for an audience. We are supposed to be intrinsically vain. We are doomed if we have no audience. In today’s world, that audience has expanded to having a social media ‘following.’ Can you imagine how many more plays Shakespeare would have written if he had an audience on Instagram? Imagine […]
The other day, my good friend, the Poodle, and I had an animated discussion on time. We go back a long way – since 2000 – and we were reminiscing about some of those times in the way that only old friends can do. “Those worry-free days,” we called it. “Would you turn back the […]
It’s that time of the year when you see ‘Top 10’ or ‘Top 100’ lists everywhere. I usually like these lists. I know. I know. I don’t sound like someone who likes listicles – but hey, I am a content manager, after all. How can I not love lists? It’s incredible, though, that this year […]

Since that May of 2017, I have gone through so many different situations when I have had opportunities to be generous, kind, and compassionate, and yet found myself wearing […]
This post is dedicated to the wonderful SR, the human mama of Spikey the Flower-Loving Dog, who even if I forget reminds me to “Look at the moon now!” or “See the skies!” Thank you for showing me that moments like these exist last week. The other day, in my post about the wonderful Nandish, […]
Isn’t time just rolling its merry wand by? It’s hard to believe that in two months we will see the end of yet another year. Where would 2019 take us? Would this world that seems so chaotic this year finally settle into a beautiful eternal colored sky of peace? If I could describe my reading […]
Last year in April, I was on Bangalore’s Metro train to MG Road, on my way to a meeting. As the train pulled out of Cubbon Park station, a visually impaired young lad got in. Someone scrambled to make way for him. He was on the phone. I glanced at my Kindle, waiting for the […]
