I think I am destined to do the most bizarre things during a test. Today, we had another test, this time from Chapter 13 to 16. At first, there is the irritatingly loud music from outside. And then, a little bee that buzzes around me. Finally, my favorite pen, the one I write all my […]
Tuesday was a holiday here, it being Qing Ming Jie or Tomb Sweeping Day. I was really happy because I was missing Tuesday’s speaking and listening class, which I hate. The teacher for this class, Tang Laoshi, is just an ordinary fluff ball of biases and prejudices. I could take it if she was a […]
One of my good friends, Voozy, was very fascinated with the story of Arabib, the girl from Tunisia caught in a confusing love triangle. Here’s an update on her. Last week, I came out of my room around the same time as Arabib. She was dressed, ready to go somewhere, and so was I. Dinner […]
I am really sorry to those wonderful people in my life whose mails I haven’t responded to yet. Thank you for writing in to me, I have been fairly lax in replying. But I hope you will like my reason. After my previous two disastrous tests, I was determined to improve my scores in the […]
Are you busy? That’s what the subject of this post means. It’s also what I increasingly find myself asking. Just last month, I had a job. I used to get up at around 6:30AM, have a quick shower before running out for what was at least a 40-minute drive in the car. Despite the early […]
Arabib lives on the same floor as my room. I first met her when she was standing outside the door to her room, talking with a bald young man who looks almost Indian except that he wasn’t Indian – he was from Saudi Arabia. Arabib says she is from Tunisia and introductions follow. She is […]
Wangba is what you call an Internet Cafe here. Yesterday, after a strenuous workout at the gym, we went over to an Internet cafe we saw close by. The place was HUGE. There must have been a 100 machines there. Most of the Chinese I saw at the Internet bar were either playing games or […]
It’s the weekend! Doesn’t matter if you are a student or working, weekends are always welcome. Especially after you have worked hard during the week – in my case, cramming characters inside the very limited space called my head. Today was yet another test, and I did slightly worse than last time. It takes great […]
Most of my posts here have been reading pretty much like a journal about what I do in China. One of my friends, Tee, was lamenting the other day that she liked my other blog, smithslostsoul.blogspot.com better. I haven’t forgotten about that blog – however, Blogger is not accessible in China, and I started this […]
