Gruesome Graffiti

Everyday

A few months ago, while walking down a street in Shivajinagar, Bangalore, I came across these interesting pictures. Presumably they are efforts from the local government to add some spice and culture to Bangalore’s faded and oft-peed-on walls. I couldn’t help but laugh at this one though. Two women on the chopping block, anyone?

House-warming and Free Advice

Everyday

Life at the PG has been busy of late. I don’t get to blog as often as I would like because the internet doesn’t work half the time. And when it does, the speed is so slow that I suffer from slowitis just waiting for the page to load. There are now a few girls […]

How to Survive as a Vegetarian in China

Everyday

Having spent around 3 years in China, the first question that people ask me, a vegetarian for life, is “How did you manage/survive?” Not how the land was. Its wonderful people. The spectacular temples. The beautiful juxtaposition of tradition and culture. Just this question. You then shrug and say, “Oh, it was fine.” “But I […]

The Inscrutable Messiness of one Moment

Everyday, Musings

Bleating and the Language of Sheep

Everyday

After years away from Facebook, being back here on this virtual so-called social platform reminds of this photo. Like this flock of sheep, everyone seems to bleat incessantly on Facebook – “see this, watch this, look at me,” and no one really cares. It’s not Facebook, at the most it’s a Likebook, because that’s the […]

On the Road to Burma

Everyday

That post is a bit misleading. I am not on the road to Burma actually, or rather, that’s now how I am planning to go. The land border between India and Burma is closed, apparently. I have to fly and that’s where the dilemma comes in. The dilemma was this: Should I pay more to […]

Hurry Up Please, It’s Time

Everyday

I started this post with too many images in my head. None of which wanted to form themselves into words on the screen. Life here in the PG has been eventful, as always. In the morning, just a little after 7, when I am exercising, there is the alarming sound of someone trying to force […]

Restaurant Review: Chili’s

Everyday

I had been seeing this restaurant in a few places. From as far as Whitefield to as close as Malleshwaram. I hadn’t really thought of going there even though I have been known to, on occasion, like Tex-Mex food. I do like Taco Bell! On Tuesday, I needed to visit my favorite hairstylist, Yogesh, who […]
